CONCEPT
No matter how good we think our English language proficiencies are, we are all guilty of butchering the English Language once in a while!
This light-hearted series of five videos was commissioned for the Speak Good English Movement 2019/20. In developing the script and concept, we were very mindful not to sound too condescending, which is typically the danger in videos that seek to correct the wrong ways. The challenge therefore, was to avoid producing a “you’re wrong, I’m right” kind of narrative.
When doing our research, we realised that there will always be some basic English usages that we were not even 100% certain ourselves. Hence, we picked the top few dilemmatic usage scenarios that sometimes do not appear to have a clear-cut answer.
The aim is to prompt the viewers to take a pause and question themselves, hopefully enough to pique their curiosity so that they can go on to the website to learn more.
